This Privacy Policy explains how Umer Habib ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when merchants install or use Ecom Announcement Bar (the "App").

We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to operate the App, provide support, maintain its functionality, and meet our legal obligations.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect and process the following information:

• Shop information: Shopify shop domain, store name, and merchant contact email.
• Authentication and Shopify user information: Shopify session and access credentials, session expiry information, and Shopify user or staff details associated with the authenticated session, such as name, email address, and Shopify user ID, where provided by Shopify. Credentials are used to authenticate requests and operate the App.
• Support information: Support request category, subject, message, priority, status, and contact details.
• Technical information: Browser user-agent information submitted with a support request.
• App configuration and analytics: Announcement bar settings and usage statistics, such as impressions and clicks, where those metrics are enabled.

Please avoid including customers' sensitive or unnecessary personal information in support messages.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and maintain announcement bar functionality.
• Authenticate merchants and securely access authorized Shopify resources.
• Display and manage app configurations and analytics.
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain application security and prevent misuse.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements and Shopify's platform requirements.

We do not intentionally use the App to build customer profiles or sell personal information.

4. Shopify Store and Customer Data

The App uses Shopify-authorized access to provide its features. It is not designed to maintain a separate database of Shopify customer records.

However, information submitted voluntarily in support messages may contain personal information. We process such information only as needed for support, security, and other purposes described in this policy.

5. Sharing and Service Providers

We may process information using service providers that help us host, operate, maintain, and secure the App. These providers may process information on our behalf, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

The App is hosted on Fly.io, and its application database is stored in a SQLite database file on a persistent Fly.io volume. Fly.io may process or store information as necessary to provide its hosting and infrastructure services.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or security, or as part of a business transfer where legally permitted.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal requirements.

When a merchant uninstalls the App, the application is designed to delete shop-associated application records and authentication sessions. We also process Shopify's shop-redaction webhook.

Fly.io volume snapshots may be retained according to the configured infrastructure retention settings. Information in operational logs or other service-provider systems may be subject to separate retention periods. We will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Merchants and other eligible individuals may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information, subject to applicable law.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. International Processing

Information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about the processing of your personal information.

The App is intended for Shopify merchants and is not designed for children.
